Gretchen Heldenfels joined Protection Development, Incorporated in 2005 shortly after graduating from Texas Lutheran University in Seguin, Texas. She received a Bachelor of Arts in English with a writing concentration. Ms. Heldenfels is responsible for assisting contractors and architects in obtaining commercial building permits from the City of San Antonio, project management, and administrative duties.

Permitting is an integral part of the company; as a result, she has developed good relationships with plan reviewers and staff members at the City. Her connection with the City of San Antonio enables her to have in depth knowledge of the permitting process, which allows her to submit for permitting in a timely manner. This knowledge also helps her to communicate the reviewer’s comments to the clients efficiently and intelligently.

She has been the project manager for office, parking garage, retail, educational, restaurant, and medical facilities. These types of projects include new construction and interior finish outs/remodels. Ms. Heldenfels has completed projects for Discount Tire, The Weston Centre, Chili’s on the River Walk, Target, and North East Independent School District.

Her English studies background, coupled with her attentiveness to detail, dependability, and perseverance, helps PDI to stand out as a professional, helpful, knowledgeable, and customer-service oriented company.
