Misty Emler joined Protection Development, Incorporated in 1998 in an administrative role. She was promoted in 2004 to Executive Assistant & Office Manager / Permitting Section Manager. In this capacity, she is responsible for supporting corporate management in daily operations of PDI as well as supervising the Permit Coordination & Management Services.

The permit coordination services provided by PDI have grown extensively over the past three years. During this time, Ms. Emler has cultivated a professional relationship with the plan reviewers and staff at the City of San Antonio (CoSA). Understanding the permit process, she has guided many architects, developers, and contractors in the most efficient methods for obtaining their permits. Ms. Emler is also involved in the Real Estate Council of San Antonio Development Process Task Force which meets regularly with CoSA staff in order to keep abreast of upcoming policies and procedures.

Ms. Emler has worked on a wide range of permitting projects during her career with PDI. She has been project manager for multi-family, office, warehouse, educational, religious, restaurant, automotive, medical, laboratory, and retail permits. Ms. Emler has experience in the various permitting options available for commercial projects. In addition, she has gained an overall knowledge of the phases of a project from platting through issue of a Certificate of Occupancy. Previous experience includes projects for North East Independent School District, San Antonio Independent School District, Hollywood Video Game Crazy, Southwest Methodist Hospital, SAKS Fifth Avenue, La Cascada on the River, and Frost Bank.
